In 1993, I left a Home Lending career to pursue an interest in the Beauty Industry. Whilst studying Beauty Therapy at one of the most acclaimed colleges in Australia, I wondered why I didn’t already know the ‘basics’ of what was taught about anatomy and physiology of the body. We all should understand the body in which we live, to be able to care for it properly.

The idea of BODY education was created.

UNDERSTAND YOUR BODY gives everyone the opportunity to learn the ‘basics’ of human anatomy and physiology. This has many advantages such as improved daily living, awareness of healthy consumption choices, obesity and ailment prevention.

As a Beauty Therapist, I realised many people working in the Beauty Industry lacked formal training and qualifications. Even the quality of training differed immensely. Unfortunately, this is still the case today.

The multi-billion dollar Beauty Industry is not regulated. This causes incorrect advice, injury, infection and consumer exploitation.

I was born in South Australia’s Barossa Valley and have lived in city and rural environments around Australia. Throughout life I’ve learnt many lessons. Purpose, positivity and value systems are vital. Abuse, bullying, addiction and depression are familiar issues of concern. Regardless of one’s placement in life, we all need BASIC PRINCIPLES to find real happiness to live well. Irrespective of opinion, nationality, religious beliefs or political views, it’s crucial to understand and respect oneself, encourage each other and realise the significance of life.

Today’s economy and competitive environment to gain and retain employment reduces work opportunities. Customer service and sales ability varies from excellent to poor. Workplace bullying is everywhere.

With ‘basic’ guidance, we can increase our opportunities, improve communication skills, avoid negativity

and enjoy work. Involvement in various employment and self- employment roles gave me experience in

how to successfully apply for work, workplace conduct and how to achieve job satisfaction.
